Better bins and no roadside recycling

I think Torfaen are fantastic at recycling.  When I travel to other places they don't offer anywhere near the recycling portion we get.  Food for example in most places isn't recycled.
I do think we have an issue with roadside litter.  I think school campaigns may help educate behaviours for the future.
I also think we need better bins.  The nets on the boxes don't work. And go missing. So maybe wheelie bin for mixed recycling would be good.  And instead of kerbside sorting do it at the depot as this also creates litter to blow around.

Why the contribution is important

We need to be proud of our environment.

plenty of intelligent people still seem to struggle with what to recycle. It may be true that kerbside seems to produce more clean recyclates but that does take into accounts the tonnes of stuff that is rejected and collected as litter and fly tipping.

collect it all and sort in a third party site and you will absolutely maximise recycling.

Totally agree. But also allow more in the recycling streams. Torfaen are really good comparatively, but it's too confusing for most residents. It's needs to be a combination of education, improved recycling services, improved bins (recycling bins on the streets not landfill) and improved social responsibility (encouraging residents to litter pick) .
