Ask Carmarthen council

I think you should ask Carmarthen council how they manage to keep their town so clean and tidy as I have never visited any town as clean and tidy as Carmarthen!
When we visited back in the summer one of the shops there asked if we would like to take part in litter picking and gave us a bag to fill up and when we returned to the shop they gave us a bath bomb! It was really hard work as there was next to no litter but a great way to encourage younger ones to  take part in litter picking! My 7 year old loved it and now every time we go there he wants to do litter picking! Just a small incentive can really get the kids wanting to take part!

Why the contribution is important

I think Carmarthen council may be able to give some ideas to Torfaen council!
Getting the youngsters to take part is key!

Love this- I bet that child will grow to be more aware and responsible about littering too.

This is a great idea. I am sure other towns and areas will also have methods which work .. Torfaen can probably find them. Lots of other towns in Wales and farther afield seem to have cracked this, let’s ask them how.

I love this - learn from others is a great way forward. Tenby town also has great clean up tactics, although I guess they spend a lot on this as it is spotless every morning before the shops re-open for a new day of trading.
