If we want to maintain our quality of life, peace, civility, security, strength in our sense of community, preparedness to help all those less fortunate than ourselves, then prove the efficiencies stated in the budget and challenge the community to step up and fund the shortfall. If the community can't pay, it can't expect the services under threat. A further self imposed tax is one way to do this. Challenge the community to find additional funds.
Why the contribution is important
Choosing which service is less important is an almost impossible challenge. Why not turn this challenge around to highlighting what we all gain from these diverse and vital services for those who benefit from them. Celebrate the good that is being delivered and challenge the community to support them.
